Customer testimonial video production in Dublin and across Ireland
Video production and managed Meta and Google ads from one Dublin team, for businesses across Ireland.
In short: Blue Motion Media films customer testimonial videos in Dublin and across Ireland. We plan the questions and shots in advance, so a customer only needs to give two to three hours. Each unscripted interview is shot to become a longer film for your website and sales meetings plus short vertical cuts for Meta and YouTube ads, which we can also run for you. Finished videos are usually back within 7 to 10 days of the shoot.
Who it is for
- Solar, battery and heat pump installers whose buyers research for weeks before they enquire
- Home improvement firms selling kitchens, stoves, windows, doors and extensions
- Clinics and wellness businesses, where trust decides the booking
- B2B companies that need client testimonial videos their sales team can play in the room
- Marketing managers who need fresh social proof for Meta and YouTube ads every month
What you get
Planning before the visit
We write the questions, the shot list and the schedule, and plan any drone work, before we arrive. Your customer's time goes on the interview, not on waiting while we set up.
An unscripted, documentary-style interview
There is no script for the customer to learn. Our co-founder Joel Zeiser trained as a documentary filmmaker, so the interview runs as a conversation and the customer answers in their own words.
Cutaways of the real job
Footage of the finished work, your premises and the customer in their own space, with drone where it helps, so the edit is not ninety seconds of talking head.
A full customer story film
A 16:9 story of the problem, the decision and the result, for your website, YouTube and sales meetings. SolarSmart's Fingallians GAA Club film runs 2:36.
Short vertical cuts for ads
Short 9:16 versions that open on the customer's strongest line, for Reels, Stories and Shorts, and for Meta and YouTube ads.
Finished files you own
Every edit finished with sound design, music, motion graphics and colour grade, delivered in high resolution, in every format you need, in a shared Google Drive, with the raw footage alongside. Revisions are included. The videos and the footage are yours.
How it works
Strategy call
A 30-minute call to agree what the testimonials need to do, where they will run and which customers are worth asking.
You ask, we plan
You ask a few happy customers, ideally the ones who already left a review or sent a thank-you. We write the questions, plan the shots and arrange a visit to their home or premises.
Two to three hours of your customer's time
We bring cameras, lighting, audio and our own crew, film the interview unscripted, then capture the cutaways and any drone footage.
Edit and delivery
We edit the longer film and the short ad cuts from the same interview, finished with sound design, music licensed for paid ads, motion graphics and colour grade. Finished videos are usually back within 7 to 10 days of the shoot.
Put them to work
Post them on your site and socials and play them in sales meetings. If we run your ads, we test the short cuts on Meta and YouTube, scale the ones that bring enquiries and report monthly on leads and cost per lead.
Where do customer testimonial videos get used?
Customer testimonial videos earn their keep in four places: paid ads, sales meetings, your website and your follow-up. One interview, shot to be cut two ways, covers all four.
- Meta and YouTube ads. YouTube reaches people while they research a considered purchase, and Facebook and Instagram follow up with the stories of customers like them. That is the funnel behind Evolve Eco Solutions' 12,000+ leads over 18 months, built on customer testimonials and short explainers.
- Sales meetings. SolarSmart plays its customer films to prospective customers in sales meetings, at the point where they are making up their minds.
- Your website. On service and landing pages, a real customer answers the question a visitor will not ask out loud: did this go well for someone like me?
- Email and organic social. The same cuts go into follow-up emails to people who enquired but have not decided yet, and onto your own channels, so people who are not ready to enquire still hear from a customer.
How is a testimonial ad different from a testimonial film?
A testimonial film tells one customer's whole story, from the problem to the result, and runs where people have chosen to watch: your website, YouTube or a sales meeting. A testimonial ad is a short vertical cut of the same interview, made to stop someone scrolling. Blue Motion Media edits both from one visit, and when we also run your ads, we cut them knowing exactly where they will run.
- Open on the strongest line. The first three seconds decide whether anyone keeps watching, so an ad starts with the customer's best sentence, not their name or your logo.
- One customer, one point. The install day, the price conversation or the result. A short cut that tries to say everything says nothing.
- Several openings, tested. We A/B test different cuts on Meta and YouTube, then put the budget behind the ones that bring enquiries.
- Fresh stories on a schedule. Ad creative wears out as the same people see it again and again, so new customers on camera keep cost per lead from creeping up. That is why most of our clients move to a monthly retainer.
- Judged on leads. We report every month on leads and cost per lead, not views.
What rules apply to using customer testimonials in Irish advertising?
Two sets of rules matter most when real customers appear in your marketing in Ireland: data protection and advertising standards. Under GDPR a customer's recognisable image and voice are personal data (the basics of consent for filming are in our FAQ). For a testimonial, the signed release needs to be specific: name paid ads on Meta and YouTube as well as your website and social channels, say how long the video will run, and keep it on file, because if the customer withdraws consent you will need to stop using the video. If a customer talks about their health or a treatment, that counts as data concerning health, one of GDPR's special categories of personal data, which can only be used in limited circumstances; for a published testimonial that in practice means getting their explicit consent.
The Advertising Standards Authority's code for Ireland says advertisers who use testimonials should hold "signed and dated proof" for them, and may use a testimonial from someone who is named or pictured only with that person's prior permission, and only while that permission still holds (section 4.15). Testimonials should relate to the product as it is currently offered (4.16), and they do not count as proof of a claim on their own (4.17). So if a customer mentions a saving or a result, make sure you can support it before it goes in an ad, and retire a testimonial when the product or offer it describes changes significantly.
Clinics have more to check. The code's health and beauty section (section 11) adds rules for marketing health and beauty treatments, including that anyone who appears to give professional advice must be suitably qualified (11.4). Practitioners registered with a professional regulator should check that regulator's advertising rules too. This is general information, not legal advice.

Questions we get asked
How much does a customer testimonial video cost in Ireland?
A short testimonial video typically costs €1,500 to €5,000 ex VAT on the Irish market, depending on crew size, travel, how many customers you film and how many edits you need. That is a market range, not a Blue Motion Media price. We quote each project after a 30-minute strategy call, because filming several customers for ads and sales meetings is a different job from one film for a website. Our video production cost guide on the blog breaks the market figures down.
How long does a testimonial video shoot take?
Usually two to three hours of your customer's time, at their home or premises. The questions, the shot list and any drone work are planned before we arrive, so your customer's time goes on the interview, not on waiting while we set up. That is the window we have worked to for SolarSmart's customer films for more than 18 months. Finished videos are usually back with you within 7 to 10 days of the shoot, delivered in a shared Google Drive.
What if our customers are nervous on camera?
Nervous customers are normal, and an unscripted interview handles nerves far better than a script. We write the questions in advance but do not hand them over, so customers answer in their own words, and we keep the camera rolling through the pauses, where the best line often comes. Our background is in documentary, so we know how to put people at ease on camera and draw out answers that sound genuine. It also helps to tell customers they will see the video before it goes out.
How long should a testimonial video be?
A testimonial ad should usually run well under a minute, and a full customer story one to three minutes. For Meta and YouTube ads, use a short vertical cut that opens on the customer's strongest line, because the first three seconds decide whether anyone keeps watching. Two of the testimonial cuts we made for Evolve Eco Solutions are 19 and 33 seconds long. The longer story suits your website, YouTube channel or a sales meeting, where people have chosen to watch: SolarSmart's Fingallians GAA Club film runs 2:36. We cut both from the same interview.
Can we use video testimonials in Facebook, Instagram and YouTube ads?
Yes, and for considered purchases they are among the most persuasive ads you can run, because buyers trust other customers more than they trust brands. Check that each customer's signed release covers paid advertising, not just your website. Blue Motion Media runs Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google (Search and YouTube) campaigns, so the team that films the testimonial also cuts the ad versions, A/B tests them and reports monthly on leads and cost per lead. Ad spend is paid directly to Meta or Google.
Who owns a testimonial video: us or the customer in it?
You own the finished videos. Blue Motion Media hands every edit over in high resolution in a shared Google Drive, along with the raw footage from the shoot. Owning the video does not cancel the customer's own rights, though: their recognisable image and voice are personal data under GDPR, so the clearest lawful basis for using them in marketing is consent, recorded in a signed release that names where the video will run, including paid ads. Keep each release on file, and if a customer later withdraws consent, stop using their testimonial. This is general information, not legal advice.
